Nail fungus is a fairly common disease, which in the initial stage does not create any particular problem for a person. However, with a long-term development of the pathology, remnants of pathogenic microflora can cause serious intoxication of the body. In the treatment of the disease, many quite effective means are used, among which celandine is distinguished from toenail fungus.
Properties of celandine
Celandine is a poisonous plant that releases orange juice when the stalk breaks. In folk medicine, the herb is used to treat many diseases and is part of various medicines. Given the fact that the plant is considered poisonous, a logical question arises: is it possible to treat nail fungus with celandine?
The plant has no adverse effect on the body in cases where the prescribed dose is observed in the preparation of the medicinal composition. Using celandine against nail fungus, you can quickly suppress the development of pathogenic microflora. This is due to the fact that the composition of the plant includes the following ingredients:
- mineral salts;
- alkaloids that suppress the inflammatory process;
- vitamins that restore local immunity;
- essential oils;
- antibiotics;
- organic acids;
- flavonoids.
By treating nail fungus with celandine, it is fashionable to achieve the following results:
- destroy fungal spores;
- softens the affected areas of the skin;
- relieving inflammation;
- eliminate itching and pain;
- accelerate the healing of open wounds.
Mountain celandine is considered the most effective medicine. However, to cure nail fungus, you can use a plant collected in other territories. In the treatment of the disease is used in the form of:
- alcoholic solution;
- banjot;
- compress;
- decoction;
- oils.
The choice of treatment method depends mainly on the preferences of the patient. In either case, you can achieve the same result.
juice
With nail fungus, you can use celandine juice. Before each treatment session, you should regularly perform the following steps:
- steam your fingers in hot water;
- remove the fungal infection on the nail plate using a pumice stone or other medicine.
To prepare the juice, it is necessary to move all the parts of the plant through a meat grinder: leaves, stalks, flowers. The resulting flour should be squeezed well. Liquid celandine can be mixed with 70% alcohol in a 1: 1 ratio (the agent is injected additionally during the day) or used separately.
The resulting solution is applied to the affected areas of the nail plate 1-2 times a day. The treatment with the plant juice lasts at least three months and ends after the complete restoration of the damaged parts of the fingers.
In the warm season, the use of freshly cut celandine juice is recommended. Before applying the medicine to the affected nail, it should be treated with hydrogen peroxide.
Butter
The recipe for the preparation of foot fungus oil includes the following ingredients:
- 1 liter glass jar with lid;
- 50 grams of freshly cut celandine;
- 100-150 ml of sunflower oil, preheated in a water bath, or olive oil.
Celandine oil from nail fungus is made as follows:
- The plant is pre-washed under running water. After that, it should be laid out on a tray and wait until the grass is completely dry.
- Celandine is placed in a glass jar.
- The plant is compacted and poured with boiled oil on top.
- The bank is located in an inaccessible place to sunlight. The tool is injected for a month.
- At the end of the allotted time, you should pass the resulting oil through cheesecloth.
Optionally, the drug can be mixed with lemon juice in a ratio of 1-2 drops of the latter with the first two tablespoons. These ingredients soften the plaque, making it easy to remove the affected part. Treatment of nail fungus with celandine oil ends after the nail has recovered.
To soften the dish, you can also use a combination of this tool with 3% vinegar. The dimensions in this case are similar to those used when using lemon juice. Obtained from the combination of celandine oil and vinegar, the agent is applied to the affected areas in the form of a compress.
Infusions and decoctions
Celandine-based alcohol tincture is made from a freshly cut plant. The grass should be washed beforehand and dried from moisture. Then, the plant is mixed with vodka in a ratio of 2: 1. The tincture ages for 12 days. Other recipes use a combination of 250 ml of 70% alcohol and 20 drops of celandine oil. The composition is injected no more than one day.
The tool is recommended to be used with extreme caution, as it has a number of contraindications. Initially, you can apply no more than 5 drops of alcohol solution on the damaged area of the nail plate. In the future, the dose of the drug is gradually increased to 20 drops. The duration of treatment should not exceed two weeks.
To make a decoction, you will also need washed and dried plant stalks and leaves. All ingredients are poured into a container and poured with boiling water so that the water completely covers the celandine. Then, the pan or jar is wrapped in a thick cloth and placed in a dark place. The broth should be injected for five days, after which the product should be filtered through gauze.
To increase the effectiveness of the drug, it is recommended to mix it with olive or vegetable oil in a ratio of 1: 1. This drug is applied 2-3 times a day and the treatment lasts about two weeks.
To make another stew, you will also need freshly dried celandine leaves and stalks. 5 tablespoons of the plant should be mixed with 6 mills of water. The composition is then put on fire and boiled for a few minutes. Upon completion of the final stage, the product is diluted with cold water, bringing it to room temperature. The decoction is applied to the affected areas of the nails and aged for 30 minutes. This method of treatment is supplemented with antifungal ointments.
compress
Therapeutic compresses taken from celandine are mainly used in the later stages of the disease, when the fungus has affected the deep structures of the nail plate. This tool softens the affected area, due to which the therapeutic ingredients penetrate easily deep.
For the compress, a product obtained from a mixture of iodinol and pre-crushed dry celandine is used. The product thus obtained is applied in a small amount to the damaged nail plate and covered with cellophane. The compress should be held for more than 20 minutes. At the end of the procedure, it is not recommended to wet your fingers for 3-4 hours.
After the compress, it is recommended to treat the damaged nail plate with an antifungal ointment. To achieve the best effect, it is recommended to perform the procedure before going to bed.
tray
Baths are mainly used to prevent the development of a fungal infection. To prepare them, you need to perform the following steps:
- prepare 5 tablespoons of dried celandine and pour over it 1. 5 liters of boiling water;
- the composition is placed back on the stove and boiled for 5 minutes;
- the product is diluted with cold water.
The duration of each session with the use of therapeutic baths does not exceed 20 minutes.
In the treatment of pathology, an alkali-based medicine from the fungus has been used frequently recently. This tool is sold in many pharmacies and is used to remove various skin defects, including papillomas and corns. The plant itself is not included in the composition of the product. The drug is mainly used as an adjunct agent in the treatment of fungi. It is able to stop the development of the inflammatory process and partially relieve itching.
